The proposal is one of  the most monumental times in a lady’s life , which is typified by the Engagement Ring! The mere thought of choosing an engagement ring might fill most men with dread.

When starting to choose that all important engagement ring there are some common questions that men think about:

What style should I choose?  What quality should the diamond be?

Will she prefer white gold or yellow gold?  Does she want diamonds in the band?

What’s her finger size? Will this be the perfect ring?

Here is something that can solve all these issues and more……….

Men are under a lot of pressure to choose the perfect engagement ring with the fear that they might get in wrong. A useful solution we have found is to ‘loan’ them an engagement ring from our in-store collection of designs. They select the ring they think their other half will love and we lend them our sample ring to propose with. The thought behind this is that we will custom make this ring for her once the ‘deed’ has been done!  This gives men so much flexibility and acts as a ‘test’ to see if she loves the ring.

Once you have proposed you can explain that the engagement ring is being individually handmade just for them but it is just awaiting her finger size. This not only avoids the issue of getting the finger size right, but also having an engagement ring individually made gets you a lot of brownie points. This takes away all the pressure and stress of choosing the perfect ring as you will be able to tell if she doesn’t like the ring by her reaction. If this is the case, you can invite her to choose a different ring (within the budget you have set aside of course!)

The beauty of this is you retain the element of surprise with your proposal as you don’t have to become Inspector Clouseau and start asking her probing questions about engagement rings. It is a win win situation. Not all jewellers will offer this service but it is certainly a fail safe way of not choosing the wrong engagement ring!
