A stunning Cornflower Blue Sapphire came in. I instantly fell in love…..

It was a 1.47ct Elegant elongated Emerald cut, such a clear vivid royal blue with such a rich even colour. It took me straight back to the Art Deco Era.

So simple and striking it could take a beautifully intricate vintage style setting.

Sketch design of initial idea

Sketching around the gemstone – a halo with a difference would work well I thought, with clean and crisp lines. The shoulders of the ring, then leading up to the main event with elongated leaf designs with an undertone of Art Deco worked well.

The sketch was then finalised by Cad for the goldsmith to set to work, the measurements finely tuned to perfection. Diamonds were hand picked to ensure the perfect match.
