The Evil Eye / Turkish Eye / Nazar

According to Wikipedia, is a ‘curse believed to be cast by a malevolent glare, usually given to a person when they are unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye will cause misfortune or injury. Talismans created to protect against the evil eye are also frequently called “evil eyes”.

It was a widely extended belief among many Mediterranean and Asian tribes and cultures. Charms and decorations with eye-like symbols known as nazars, which are used to repel the evil eye are a common sight across Greece, Turkey, Albania, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Southern Italy (Naples), the Levant, and Afghanistan and have become a popular choice of souvenir with tourists.

This particular piece had to be a commission, fit for a Princess!!

Using the finest quality cornflower blue sapphire, vivid blue green aquamarine and rare white and black diamonds combined with 18ct white gold. The sparkle from the gems gives a wonderful play of light. It was made approximately 1 inch across so suitable for everyday wear and created a very subtle a classy look in comparison to the chunky glass bead style pieces available.
